Speaking Engagements

Tom & Waneta Cook, along with their 10 children, produce and sell a variety of agriculture products and services. What began on 10 acres, that was anything but ideal farming ground, has become the Cook Family Farm.  The seeds of a dream were planted 11 years ago after reading books written by Joel Salatin. It wasn’t until late in 2002 when Tom’s off farm job came to an end that the Cook’s moved forward to make this dream a reality.

The Cook’s raise grass-fed chicken, turkey, beef, pork, lamb and chevron. Late in 2009 an MDA licensed poultry processing facility was constructed on the farm. Tom & Waneta believe that working together as a family is priceless. Valuing this time they encourage their children to seek out their own agriculture entrepreneurship. The Cook’s children, ranging in age from 20 to 1, have already cultivated several agriculture endeavors of their own.

Tom & Waneta understand that planning, marketing, and research are key components to cultivating any business. Cook Family Farm is allowing them to live out their passions through their faith, family and farming.

Here's what folks have said in the past about the speaking experience!

Kyle - American Culinary Federation

"You showed a great deal of passion for your farm, livestock, and your family.  Our group was excited to hear about what is happening locally and to have such a good source for local and sustainable items for our menus.  You did a wonderful job engaging our group and answering our questions."

Shelly - Northern Michigan Small Farm Conference

"Is it a job, a career, or a calling?' This was the driving question in Waneta Cook's keynote speech at the 2011 Northern Michigan Small Farm Conference.  Waneta personifies this theme; I firmly believe it is her calling to encourage others, through her public speaking, to pursue their truest dreams."

Waneta is available to speak at your event. Please call today to make arrangements.          (989) 731-1332
